I'll preface this by assuming that a majority of purchasers of the Sony
cameras which accomodate this EVF are likely photography enthusiasts
since there are plenty of (much) cheaper compact cameras out there. If
an eyeglass-wearing photo enthusiast cares about composition then he/she
needs to give some thought to the fact that this EVF, with either
provided eyecup, will still not allow the user to see the complete frame
that the camera will capture without jiggling the eyecup around after
you have pressed the eyecup to your glasses. If photographic
composition is important to you, then this is a real pain in the neck.
Not only that, but enough of that jiggling around could cause the lenses
on today's plastic-lensed eyeglasses to become blemished. Personally, I
am more comfortable using a viewfinder (which I use in my DSLR) and so
purchased this Sony EVF just to make life easier. My view is that a
photographic tool (what a camera is) should "disappear" as much as
possible in the creative process. As such, the EVF should not be an
impediment in any way....ESPECIALLY at THIS price. Fortunately, the
Sony's "white magic" LCD screen is better than most other cameras' LCD
screens in sunlight, so it is not a necessity to own an EVF here, as it
is in many other cameras.

First of all, it arrived quickly, was well-packaged and just as
described, including contact information in case there was any problem
(which there was not.) Digital Goja obviously cares about getting it
right - great seller!
The hood feels very well-built - the
outside is covered in a leather-like material and the inside with more
of a felt/fabric type material, and hooks with strong velcro. It holds
it shape over the LCD well too.
I bought it to do double duty. I
have the Canon Vixia HV30 HDV camcorder, which I use to record my son's
golf tournaments. This camera does have a viewfinder which I usually
use, but I wanted to try filming with the flip-out screen (I'd like to
upgrade at some point and most don't have viewfinders anymore.) It is
hard to see the LCD screen out in the bright light, so this hood creates
enough shade that the LCD screen shows up much better.
